LIM College – Where Business Meets Fashion is currently seeking candidates for the position of Part-Time Alumni Affairs Assistant.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
LIM College educates students for success in the global business of fashion and its many related industries. Located in midtown Manhattan - the fashion capital of the world - and devoted exclusively to the study of business and fashion, LIM College fosters a unique connection between real-world experience and academic study in business principles. Undergraduate students may major in Fashion Merchandising, International Business, Management, Marketing or Visual Merchandising. At the graduate level, LIM College offers an MBA program as well as MPS programs in Fashion Marketing, Fashion Merchandising & Retail Management, Global Fashion Supply Chain Management, and Visual Merchandising.

The Alumni Affairs Assistant provides various types of administrative support to the Office of Institutional Advancement.

This person under the supervision of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement strives to build lifelong relationships with alumni of LIM College through extensive programming and initiatives that will engage and unite alumni with the LIM College community. Programming initiatives include, but are not limited to, support of all alumni activities, mentoring and networking programs, alumni/student events, family/alumni weekend, development programs, and alumni campaign initiatives.

The Alumni Affairs Assistant is responsible for identifying notable alumni for profiles on the website as well as a means of engaging them with LIM's student community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
  • Acting as an Administrative Assistant to the Office of Institutional Advancement in all activities including but not limited to; distributing mail, typing, copying, faxing various documents, mass mailing projects,email blast and ordering of all office supplies
  • Reserving space, securing IT needs and facilitating the department's meetings with internal or external constituents
  • Working under the direction of the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, responsible for facilitating the Fashion Advisory Board Meetings which includes, updating contact list, updating photo boards, scheduling room reservation for entire year, ordering breakfast, setting up meeting room, distribution of handouts, recording meeting and transcript and distribution of minutes.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Communication, responsible for managing all media request and organizing all media clips
  • The managing, tracking and maintaining all RSVP list for I.A. events which include but are not limited to; Family and Friends Weekend, alumni events and industry partner events, this also includes managing the check in desk for all events
  • Assisting and supporting all alumni affairs activities, including: meetings, events, special programs
  • Serve as administrative support for the alumni advisory board
  • Working in conjunction with Vice President for Institutional Advancement to further cultivate and engage the alumni community
  • Updating and maintaining all social media post, in addition responsible for maintaining and updating the LIM College website and alumni webpage
  • Assisting in the event planning for all alumni events and programs as assigned
  • Soliciting alumni and industry professionals for goodie bag and silent auction products
  • Responsible for the administrative support and mailings for the alumni and parents newsletters
  • Responsible for identifying outstanding alumni for the alumni profiles including rising and shining star candidates
  • Developing and maintain an accurate alumni/student mentoring platform
  • Maintaining alumni photo archives and resize/crop photos as needed
  • Working under the leadership of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, as the support person for maintaining an accurate, centralized (The Raiser's Edge) database of appropriate addresses and information for undergrad and graduate alumni; generating reports from this database, as needed
  • Working under the leadership of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, as the support person for developing and maintaining accurate alumni groups i.e. Fashion Scholars, Delta Mu Delta, International for the purpose of mentoring and networking with students
  • Responsible for the administrative support and mailings for alumni direct mail campaigns
  • Identifying potential donors within the LIM College alumni community utilizing prospect research tools
  • Responsible for basic design for alumni flyers, post cards invitations, email newsletters and other pertinent materials as needed
  • Maintaining and updating photo galleries and boards for distinguished and rising star alumni
  • Performing other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS: The person selected will have the following qualifications:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Publisher, Photoshop, In Design, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Working knowledge of social media
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with The Raiser's Edge Software preferred
