About this job

The General Manager (GM) takes full responsibility for the operational, financial, people, and legal compliance for a restaurant.  The GM must be effective demonstrating leadership, strong judgment, clear and consistent communication, and good people supervisory skills.  Also, the GM must promote Company culture and establish a positive work environment for all TMs.  The GM will complete a GM development program.  Below is a list of some specific (but not all inclusive) duties of the GM:

  • Prepare and interpret financial and operational reports and schedules
  • Develop solutions to ensure Brand Standards are achieved
  • Achieve staffing and training goals as set by the Above Restaurant Leaders
  • Achieve operating profit and cash flow goals by overseeing all controllable costs and taking the appropriate corrective action
  • Ensure timely implementation for all marketing promotions
  • Develop restaurant hourly managers through corporate training programs and individual development plans
  • Provide coaching and constructive feedback to employees as needed
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are in compliance with brand standards and all government regulations while taking corrective action when required
  • Proactively handle employee relations issues and guest relations issues
  • Monitor that proper security measures are in place to protect employees, guests and company assets
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and general cleanliness
  • Maintenance of kitchen, dining areas and restrooms
  • Follow management cash handling, inventory and other operational procedures as outlined by the employer

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience as a GM in the Quick Service Industry
  • Proven ability to problem solve and handle high stress situations
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings and additional shifts as needed
  • Licensed to operate an automobile without operations restrictions and has reliable transportation.
