Functions as the leader of the hotel’s Group sales effort and responsible for implementing the segment’s sales strategy and achieving segment’s revenue goals, and aligning them with property revenue goals and guest and associate satisfaction.  Leads and manages various day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel sales objectives.  Achieves personal booking goals and makes recommendations on booking goals of direct reports, in conjunction with DOSM.

• Ability to understand and utilize economic, financial, industry, and organizational data; accurately diagnosing customer needs and issues that can inform sales strategies.

• Ability to gather and organize information relevant to a long-range goal or vision, develops alternative strategies, and executes a course of action to carry out strategy.

• Participates in weekly hotel strategy meeting, training and other sales related meetings as required.

• Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.

• Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.  Activities include attendance of sales calls, community events, industry events, entertainment; FAM trips trade shows, road shows, etc.

• Executes designated sales strategies to develop and solicit specific accounts to achieve revenue goals.

• Effectively manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

• Effectively use sales resources and administrative/support staff.

• Assists DOSM in developing business sales strategy to achieve sales goals for their team as well as assisting in any corporate initiatives.

• Responsible for monthly sales activity productivity reports.

• Responds to incoming Group opportunities for the hotel.

• Set up show rooms for site tours at each property day of scheduled tour.

• Put together “Site Alerts” for upcoming site tours and sending out to property 24hrs in advance of site tour.

• Record and track all inter-resort referrals.

• Support DOSM on special projects to include, but not limited to mailings, client events, SWAG items, etc.

• Performs any additional tasks or projects as required.

Qualifications:
• Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and comprehend English fluently. -required 
• College degree required in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major. -required 
• Minimum of 5 years hospitality sales experience. -required 
• Sales Experience with Marriott. -preferred 
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office. -required 
• Proficiency with CITY. - preferred 
• Ability to read and comprehend complex correspondence. -required 
• Ability to effectively present detailed information both verbally and in written form to employees, managers, executives and guests. -required 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. -required 
• Knowledge of the Vail Valley. -preferred 
• Must be able to work as part of a team. -required 
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. -required 
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit. -required
