SUMMARY:

Responsible for the effective overall management of Hotel Hospitality, Restaurant and Retail Point of Sale and

Inventory enterprise applications. Will work with other IT associates and the Company to ensure that IT is

delivering efficient and effective services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the quality and integrity of enterprise application systems.
  • Ensures a superior level of user service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained throughout the properties.
  • Performs Project Management oversight of enterprise application installs and upgrades.
  • Coordinates and installs enterprise applications maintaining data integrity and system quality.
  • Coordinates, installs and tests software upgrades.
  • Conducts routine maintenance of enterprise application systems.
  • Routinely inspects all enterprise application associated equipment on property, identifying potential
  • Collects and analyzes enterprise application system performance statistics.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the enterprise applications in order to provide technical support and guidance, as needed.
  • Communicates with other departments to report and resolve problems with enterprise applications.
  • Responds to the needs and questions of enterprise application users concerning their system related processes.
  • Monitors system performance and optimizes/tunes stored procedures and indexes.
  • Troubleshoots and isolates performance problems in production databases.
  • Initiates, tracks, and renews vendor contracts.
  • Documents technical procedures for the Information Technology Department.
  • Initiates, tracks, and finalizes procurement requests and associated project budgets.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the quality and integrity of systems on property.
  • Assists in creating, maintaining, and justifying IT’s overall operating budget.
  • Act as liaison with thirdͲparty support, WindowsͲbased and/or peripheral hardware equipment vendor(s).
  • Keeps fully abreast of trends and changing technologies as they relate to IT.
  • Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup.
  • Assists in developing and communicating standards for use, operations, and security of enterprise applications.
  • Assists in developing and implementing disaster recovery procedures.
  • Documents technical procedures for the Information Technology Department.
  • Performs light housekeeping duties in the Information Technology Department, ensuring a clean, neat and orderly work area and a dustͲfree environment in the computer room and office areas is achieved and maintained.
  • Required to participate in onͲcall pager rotation.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess superior technical skills, and be proficient in a variety of network and enterprise application systems currently in use by the company.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and/or experience eight (8) years.
  •  AND Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with and supporting enterprise application systems, preferably in a casino environment.
  • At least one (1) year experience with Project Management or equivalent certification

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Certified in at least One (1) of the following or an additional Two (2) years working with and supporting enterprise application systems,
  • o Microsoft Server
  • o SQL Server
  • o AS 400
  • o Project Management
  • o MCITP
  • o MCSE
  • o MCP

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to pass company preͲemployment Drug and Alcohol test.
  • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
  • Responsible for following all relevant DGR’s.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in oneͲonͲone, small group situations, and to moderateͲsized gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.
  • Must be able to communicate with all members of the Information Technology Team in a professional, cordial manner, in order to successfully accomplish departmental and company goals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Must have the ability to correctly apply the principles of Boolean Algebra, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.

ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS:

  • Must be well organized, with the ability to meet timelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical.
  • The ability to selfͲdirect and work independently, as well as work in a team setting.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.
  • Ability to apply good fault isolation techniques to a variety of situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to:

  • Talk and hear;
  • See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision;
  • Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;
  • Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
  • Lift and/or move objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Operate equipment/machinery such as Genie Lift, etc.
  • Work on six (6’) foot or twelve (12’) foot ladders.

WILLINGNESS AND ABILITY TO TRAVEL:

  • This position will be utilized to support all Grand Casino properties and will require travel between other sites in the region.
  • Occasionally offͲsite training is required and may include interstate and/or intrastate travel.This may include air travel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:

  • A lowͲtoͲmoderate noise level (offices).
  • A moderateͲtoͲloud noise level (public areas).
  • SecondͲhand cigarette/cigar smoke.
  • Chemical solutions such as cleaning, polishing and lubricating compounds.
  • Moving mechanical and/or electrical components.
  • The risk of electrical shock.
  • Regularly exposed to radiation (from computers).
