Position Summary:
The Housekeeping Associate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the building and grounds of the distribution center. The Housekeeping Associate must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning and disposing or moving of objects/materials. Work is performed under general supervision. Work assignments are received through oral requests and by written memoranda.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleans and dusts restrooms, offices and cafeteria. Strips, cleans, waxes and polishes floors and vacuums carpets while adhering to housekeeping standards in order to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Sweep, scrub and mop warehouse floors using such equipment as a power sweeper and scrubber
• Pick up empty trash receptacles and pick up cardboard and plastic and bale items in order to reduce waste volume to maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Clean up various types of spills and disposes of wastes while adhering to company procedures. Clean up toxic spills according to federal, state and local regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Cuts weeds and grass, prunes bushes and trees and performs other yard work to maintain distribution center appearance

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping industry

Skills and Abilities:

Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk, sit, push, pull and move continuously during work hours and able to lift up to 70 lbs.

Travel as required.
