Children’s Support Staff provide assistance on and off the snow for the successful daily operation of our Children’s Products.  This is a dynamic position that rotates daily through various types support roles depending upon the needs of the day.  These roles may include Equipment Rentals, Conveyor / Surface Lift Operation and Outdoor Lesson Venue Set-Up.   

SUPPORT DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively seek opportunities to assist instructors and participants to improve lesson experience for all. 
  • Support instructors in the learning area by assisting with restroom breaks, loading and unloading conveyor lifts, and actively engaging with children who aren’t participating in the lesson due to illness or other causes.
  • Conduct check-in /checkout process for the Children’s School Products ensuring all forms are signed and that the appropriate products and tickets are associated with the correct guests.
  • Interface with parents to explain products, services, policies, and schedules
  • Have a strong working knowledge of all Ski and Snowboard School products and supporting programs
  • Assist in the operation of the school rental shop, fitting gear, and or attaining technician certification
  • Assist in daily operational organization where needed
  • Confer regularly with the Ski and Snowboard School supervisory team and other company personnel to coordinate services, activities, and exchange information for problem resolution.
  • Administer record keeping and reporting systems for all required processes
  • Maintain facilities as needed, ensuring safety standards are met
  • Perform other duties as requested or deemed necessary by the supervisory team
  • Help with Lunch service including serving, cleaning, and safety oriented procedures

RENTAL TECHNICIAN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide enthusiastic, professional guest service
  • Must have a caring and helpful attitude and enjoy working with children of all ages.
  • Responsible for set up of rental equipment reservations prior to next day’s arrivals.
  • Be familiar and able to explain rental charges and ski school products to the parents.
  • Assist families in the placement and labeling of ski/snowboard equipment, as well as the completion of rental/liability forms and proper payment through the ticket sellers.
  • Communicate with Ski and Snowboard School Supervisors, instructors, and ticket sellers on product levels/availability and assist in operations as needed
  • Maintain all paperwork according to company policies and procedures
  • Maintain all equipment as well as storage of equipment in racks throughout facility
  • Responsible for adjusting, tuning and maintenance of rental equipment
  • Keep rental area clean, safe and organized
  • Assist with set up, organizing and inventory of equipment pre/post season
  • Other duties as required by the supervisory team as needed. 
  • Must be 18 years old or older for some responsibilities
  • High School diploma preferred
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends
  • Must be available for work during primary hours of operation 8:00am-5:30pm.  Ability/flexibility to work longer hours at Peak volume periods when needed.
  • Experience in working with children
  • Snowsports background preferred.

SET-UP DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Setting up and take down the Check-in area at the base including Tents, tables, fencing, and on-hill animation props.
  • Setting up and maintaining the Red-pine learning areas.  Set up includes fencing, gates, animation props, and ski racks.
  • Set up and tear down of the high meadow adventure zone and safety fencing.
  • Snow removal as needed for the learning areas.
  • Building and maintaining safety fencing and signs.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to works a split shift starting at 7:30am ending at 5:30
  • Mechanically inclined and familiar with the use of power tools.
  • Strong skiing or riding skills. Able to Ski/ride carrying loads (poles, fences, drills, signs) on Blue runs.
  • Able to lift minimum of 50lbs
  • Ability to bend, lift, carry, stoop, and twist regularly during the work day.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction and then work independently.

SURFACE LIFT OPERATIONS

  • Monitor the operation of the lift continually and notify the appropriate personnel of any problems or unusual conditions
  • Maintain a safe work area, i.e., ramp heights, tools stored, mazes set up etc.
  • Adhere to all ski/ride policies, i.e., Responsibility Code, designated trails, skiing/riding on and off the clock etc.
  • Complete all required paperwork legibly and in a timely manner
  • Pleasantly greet, make eye contact, listen to and respond appropriately to every guest’s needs and or questions, in person, outside of the lift building
  • Follow and adhere all company and departmental service standards
  • Abides by operating procedures,
  • Help guests and fellow teammates enjoy their time on the mountain
  • Remember that fun is our product- create fun, enjoy your work and share the contagious spirit
  • Must be at least 18 years old at beginning of employment – Required
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English – Required
  • Must be safety oriented - Required
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs - Preferred
  • Must be able to work outdoors for up to 10 hours in all winter weather conditions at altitude (7000’)- Required
  • Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, hear, see, repetitive motions, carry - Required
  • Strong guest service skills – Preferred
