Responsibilities: Assists with diagnostic examinations and procedures. Utilizes two patient identifier process when preparing patient for examination or procedure. Positions patients safely according to guidlines for examination or procedure. Identifies equipment needed for examinations and procedures including protocol for setup, usage and dismantling. Safely transports and assist patients to rooms. Cleans examination and procedure rooms according to environmental services standards and specifications. Replaces any used supplies and notifies supervisor of any needed supplies or equipment not replaced. Visually inspects room and equipment for safety concerns. Reports problems with equipment to supervisor according to policy. Performs delegated specific patient care skills. Performs specific skills on approved unit skills for Unit Technician. Performs and monitors patient vital signs including, but not limited to, ECG, Blood Pressure, and Oxygen Saturations under supervision of RN. Reports in a timely manner any abnormal findings to RN or Provider. Documents patient care provided, according to unit specific EMR requirements. Performs basic patient care skills - I&O, Ambulation, Transfer and Positioning in Bed, Chair, Cart; Feeding those without swallowing deficiencies; Urinanalysis Sample Collection from Collection Device; Height; Weight. Performs non-clinical tasks to support departmental functions. Completes assigned audits by due date. Restocks unit supplies as needed. Correlates procedure charge with actual procedure performed per unit requirements. Procures required medical records under direction of RN or Provider. Answers incoming departmental phone calls and directs appropriately.

Qualifications: One to two years acute clinical patient care experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Baccalaureate degree preferred.

Additional Qualifications: Basic computer knowledge and skills required. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines required. Must demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, writing and listening skills. Ability to work effectively in a team setting and be flexible required. Knowledge of medical terminology required. For ICU only, required to take cardiac classes within 6 months of hire. License or Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required through American Heart Association or Red Cross. Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) or successful completion of one quarter/semester of clinicals and currently enrolled in an LPN or RN program required. EMT certification may be substituted for these requirements for Emergency Department only.

Compensation Detail: Minimum rate is $14.11 based upon union contract.

Hours/Pay Period: 40

Schedule Details: This is an 8 hour shift 0.5 position. Schedule includes evening/night shifts including 1500-2330, 1900-0330, and 2300-0730

Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend, every other holiday
