About this job

* A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Service field (i.e. psychology, social work, etc.) required. Level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a Master's Degree in Social Work or other related Behavioral Science preferred.

* Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience in completing Behavioral Health level of care assessments for adolescents and adults required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a behavioral health related position highly preferred.

* CPI (Crisis Prevention) certification is required. CPI instructor preferred.

* State of Illinois LCSW and LCPC highly desirable.

* Family counseling training/certification highly preferred.

* Current CPR certification required.

* Ability to read, write legibly and communicate in English. Bilingual in Spanish, Polish or Ukrainian preferred.

* Ability to handle stress due to pressure/tension from critical nature of work, patient/work volume, dealing with others on the job and constant need to shift priorities. Ability to communicate with people when they are sick disabled or agitated. Able to apply knowledge/procedures and to understand technical information from supervisors and other sources as appropriate to job level.

* The minimum level of access to protected health information (PHI) for this position is assessed and maintained by the department(s) in which the employee works.

* Interpersonal skills necessary to maintain a professional demeanor in emotionally challenging and stressful situations that may include physically volatile occurrences.

* Analytical skills required to prioritize and intervene in an environment that has a rapidly fluctuating volumes.

* Empathic approach to providing crisis intervention with an ability to establish appropriate limits while providing quality care.
