JOB PURPOSE:

Under close supervision of the Inventory and/or Area Manager this position exists to perform physical inventory of merchandise at various customer sites, ensuring timely, accurate, and a profitable inventory in a professional and courteous manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assure merchandise is quickly and accurately counted by correctly entering the count and/or merchandise data into the data terminal through keying or scanning.


  • Meet or exceed standard productivity goals as established for each inventory performed by counting merchandise in an accurate and timely manner.


  • Meet or exceed all established standards of performance, conduct and safety by following specific customer account instructions, and all WIS policies and procedures.


  • Record inventory count on provided section tag by reviewing information collected in the data terminal.


  • Reduce Workers’ Compensation expenditures by promoting and participating in safety awareness and accident prevention programs and creating a “culture” of safety practices in the workplace.


Requirements

Education:

Normally requires High School diploma or equivalent. Must have an understanding of how to calculate and solve basic mathematical problems. Must be able to accurately comprehend verbal and written instructions.

Experience:

Six months retail experience or previous inventory experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to quickly and accurately count merchandise by imputing data and information into a data terminal through keying or scanning.


  • Ability to meet all standard productivity goals as established by account.


  • Ability to follow all established standards of performance, as per WIS policies and procedures.


  • Ability to clearly and accurately print alpha numeric count and merchandise information on various forms as required.


  • Ability to ensure safety of all employees at all times whether in the office, travelling or while performing actual inventories.
