We have an opportunity to hire full-time, flex-time and part-time Advertising Account Executives who wish to work on commission and set their own schedules while still achieving their monthly sales goals.

OBJECTIVES: This position is responsible for selling advertising schedules based on advertiser marketing needs within the newspaper and our digital suite of products. Achieving budgeted revenue goals by developing all new/incremental business possible in assigned territory, for maintaining an awareness of local competitive conditions and improving market share. PR / networking as an ambassador of the newspaper attending chamber functions and other networking opportunities are important.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sell retail advertising space in all American Hometown Publishing products including print, online and niche products.
  • Acquire new advertising customers, secures continued advertising from former and current customers.
  • Calls on customers to assess advertising needs and set up advertising budget, advertisement size, content, run date(s), copy / layout, calculates rates and quotes them to customer.
  • Assist customers in developing strategies concerning advertisement run dates, how to best target customers, and the benefits of advertising.
  • Achieving budgeted revenue goals by developing all new/incremental business in assigned territory,

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Proficient user of Microsoft Office and internet research tools. Good communication skills, ability to handle deadline pressure and high stress work environment. Good organizational skills. Ability to get along well with others - maintain a positive, professional and helpful behavior/attitude to customers, peers, staff and supervisor. Dependable and punctual. Excellent grammar, spelling skills and calculator skills. Valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle, required motor vehicle license. Must have reliable transportation, able to use standard office equipment, PC, Microsoft Word and Excel, operate a digital camera and or smart phone. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma/equivalent, previous sales or customer service experience, good driving record required. Six months to one year related media sales experience and / or training in sales helpful but not required. We will train if you have the desire to learn and right attitude.
