Responsible for preparation of all menu items.  Required to follow company recipes delivering fresh food selections for each breakfast and lunch class.  The Chef will need to have excellent time management to achieve this goal.  Hot food must be served hot and fresh, and cold food must be served cold and fresh.  The cook will keep careful record of inventory needed to produce menu items.

The Cook will prepare and portion all cooking ingredients.  Washing, peeling, chopping, mincing, sautéing, baking, blanching, grilling, storing and all other necessary steps to yield fresh food.  The cook will  operate fryers, grills, stoves, ovens and microwaves, use batch cooking techniques to achieve quality control, set up, break down and thoroughly clean and sanitize work station.  Be responsible for and demonstrate proper portion control.  Monitor and adhere to all proper cooking temperatures to ensure food safety.  Washing, cleaning and disinfecting the kitchen equipment, tables, cooking tools and knives will be required.

Additional job duties will be performed as requested by the Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements

All employees of Four Seasons will be required to be a team players, and always demonstrate a pleasant and positive attitude to all in the work place.  Coworkers, school officials and students must always be addressed in a courteous and professional manner.  All employees serve as role models, and as such a neat and clean physical experience is important to the integrity and success of Four Seasons and the school.  The employee therefore agrees to  wear a staff shirt (provided by Four Seasons) or chef's jacket and chino or chef pants for the cook, and a non slip shoe.  Clothes must be clean and wrinkle free.  Nails need to be neat and clean.  Facial hair (beards and mustaches) must be clean, well groomed and close to the face.  A hair net or hat (provided by Four Seasons) must be worn at all times.  All employees are required to follow the rules set forth by the department of health and mental hygiene. Disposable gloves will be worn and changed as required by the health department.
