About this job

  1. All Security guards are required to stop and question anyone in a secure area not displaying the proper DEN Airport issued ID. If a person refuses to show their ID the security guard will contact the company supervisor or United Security Manager immediately.
  2. Security guards are required to report all incidents and unusual conditions (Whether personally observed or reported by others) to the Food Services Manager on Duty and the United Security Manager. In addition a written account will be submitted on both United Food Services Security Incident Report and Security Company Daily Log Report.

  3. Monitor all employees for proper access entry entering and exiting the building by biometric turnstiles to prevent ID loaning or employee piggybacking through an access turnstile.

  4. If an employee does not have a badge, their name is to be recorded and a Human Resources supervisor will be notified to come and approve the entry of the employee. NO BADGE =NO ACCESS WITHOUT HUMAN RESOURCES ESCORT. The employee will be escorted for business purposes i.e. ID application replacement of lost/stolen ID or possible discipline hearing on site in the secured area of the facility. If a Human Resources staff member is not in the building, the guard shall contact the senior manager on duty.

  5. Any and all bags brought into the facility should be randomly checked for contraband items such as knives, scissors, and aerosol cans, weapons of any kind along with any items currently on the TSA Prohibited Items list. Employee bags must be clear and contents should be easily visible as the employee enters and exits the facility.

  6. Any and all bags leaving the facility should be randomly checked for contraband items and company material such as knives, scissors, aerosol cans, any kind of food or drink, office supplies, cooking utensils, or radios or any other company owned property without manager approval. All packages must be inspected prior to leaving the facility.

  7. The Security guard must randomly inspect the contents of the garment including pockets of all outer wear being worn or carried out by the employee such as jackets or coats to include anybody else acting suspicious. The Security guard will follow a set method of random inspections and document the actions recorded. The method of random inspections will be provided by United Airlines Food Services management.

  8. The security guard is not allowed to make physical contact with an employee when conducting searches. Random audits should be conducted of employees by asking them to raise their pant legs and pull out their pockets.

  9. No Reading of books, newspapers, magazines, cell phone use or ear buds while in position.

  10. No Smoking while in position.

  11. All Security guards that come in before their shift will wait in the lobby for their shift to begin.

  12. No Security guard will leave their position until they are relieved.

  13. All Security guards will have read and been trained on The United Airlines Emergency procedures.

  14. All established break periods outlined by United Food Services will be covered by United Security Agent team members.

  15. In the event of an emergency evacuation, the security guard will follow all United Food Services employees to the nearest evacuation exit and remain at the designated area until cleared.
