Assistant General Manager ( Hotel)

Seeking a self-motivated and seasoned candidate with strong leadership skills, current or two-three years of Hotel AGM or Front Office Management Experience. This person must have the following skills in Front Desk, Housekeeping, room inspections and mainly hotel management or department experience. AGM or Front Desk Management experience from a CFRST or Full Service Hotel will be considered. Must be able to lead others, good communication and people skills, and the ability to run the hotel in the General Managers absence. Proven top sales and bottom line profit experience is necessary. This AGM position will have several departments’ supervisors and hourly employees reporting to it. Must be flexible in shifts.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsible for all aspects of the operation, including guest and associate satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales and revenue generation and delivering a return on investment to both Marriott International and ownership. Assists the General Manager in leading the team in the development and implementation of hotel-wide strategies. Ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations. Builds relationships with key customers and is involved in the sales process.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years’ experience in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.

  • Customer and Personal Service -Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problems.
  • Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
  • Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).
  • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
